Sacraments at the Service of the Communion
- Holy Matrimony (1. Celebrated at mass 2. Ceremony begins after Liturgy of the Word 3. Bride and Groom ask Jesus to strengthen them to keep the covenant that they make with each other 4. Marriage vows 5. Matrimony 6. Rings reminds them to be faithful in love 6. Lord's prayer 7. Nuptial Blessing 8. Marriage is a sacrament that lasts as long as the husband and wife are alive. 9. Children are the greatest natural gift God gives to married men and woman 10. Sometimes a family might be left with only one adult to care for the children. This can happen because of separation, divorce, death, or other reasons. God loves this family very much. 11. A family can be called a domestic church. This means that they are called together through marriage to love and care 12. Vocation 13. Possible life choices are *the married life, *the single life, *the religious life and *the priesthood)

4. Becoming a Priest: Deacons kneel before bishop, bishop places both hands on deacon's head, other priests celebrating the sacrament with the bishop do the same, the candidates arrange themselves in a semi circle, bishop extends his hands over them and prays a prayer of consecration, an assisting priest places a stole and gives them a chasuble -both stole and chasuble represent are signs of priesthood, bishop anoints the men's palms with holy chrism, bishop gives each newly ordained priest a paten and a chalice, the paten has a host on it, the chalice contains water and wine this shows that the priests can now preside at the Eucharist, the new priests then join with the bishop in celebrating the mass -this is called concelebration, the new priests pray the Eucharistic Prayer with the bishop and they consecrate the bread and the wine, then they all join for the final blessing.

Becoming a Deacon: Decons can be men preparing to be priests or after a men is 35 years old married or unmarried may be ordained as a deacon, deacons train 3-5 years during this time they help in parishes and study for their vocation, the bishop ordains the deacons, bishop lays his hands on the man's head and prays for him, as a sign of his ordination, the deacon wears a stole on his left shoulder, it crosses his chest and back
6. Becoming a Bishop: only the Pope can appoint a bishop but another bishop ordains him, a bishop is ordained through the laying on of the hands, annointing with chrism, and a prayer, their symbols are a ring, a miter (a tall pointed hat), and a crosier (a staff), bishops lead and care for people within a certain area called a diocese

In the Book of Isaiah 11:2-3, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are described. In the passage the gifts are considered ones that the Messiah would have possessed. Through Jesus, we also receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
1. Wisdom helps us recognize the importance of others and the importance of keeping God central in our lives.
2. Understanding is the ability to comprehend the meaning of God's message.
3. Knowledge (Right Judgement) is the ability to think about and explore God's revelation, and also to recognize there are mysteries of faith beyond us.
4. Counsel (Knowledge) is the ability to see the best way to follow God's plan when we have choices that relate to him.
5. Fortitude (Courage) is the courage to do what one knows is right.
6. Piety (Reverance) helps us pray to God in true devotion.
7. Fear of the Lord (Wonder and Awe) of the Lord is the feeling of amazement before God, who is all-present, and whose friendship we do not want to lose.
